ABOUT ME

Pursuing research in frontier areas such as, imaging complex geological terrain, mapping sub-volcanic sedimentary formation and delineating gas-hydrate reservoir. I have a positive approach to learn new techniques/tools and execute them to reveal features hitherto unknown or difficult to achieve by conventional methods. I have hands-on experience on processing and modeling of land and marine seismic data. My recent achievements are: (i) delineating the configuration of West Bengal sedimentary basin (ii) understanding the geological units in Dharwar craton and (iii) imaging sub-volcanic sediments of Kerala-Konkan offshore basin, using traveltime tomography.

While working on these, I gained vital knowledge in different aspects of linear/non-linear problems, optimization and statistical techniques which are essential in geophysical applications.

The experience gained during the course of time I have been highly motivated to continue my research in present day advanced technology like Full waveform tomography (FWT), Reverse time migration.

In this regard, I pursued my Ph.D. degree in the field of Earth sciences entitled with "Imaging West-Bengal onshore and Kerala Konkan offshore basins using active-source seismic tomography ", India. As a part of my thesis I applied FWT to long offset data acquired from both offshore and land with different purposes includes. By applying FWT in different scenarios, I addressed few challenges of full waveform tomography for the application of the real data in better way, which I have been experiencing.
